I am speechless. . .

Just when I thought that Scobie might be mellowing with age, he presents to me a decimated mouse family.

For a change of pace

Scobe must be tired of eating the hind end.

Almost prey

There are limits. Scobe trapped this guy in a window well early this morning. Luckily his screams awakened Hillary and she quickly opened the window separating the killer from the prey. He was deemed "too cute" to die and Scobe was promptly brought inside before the chippy was given a path to freedom.

Note: Scobe was surprisingly compliant. Maybe he agreed with the "too cute" assessment.

Back in action

After a two day respite while Scobe was on sick leave the woodland creates have reason again to be terrified.

The Face of a Killer

Don't let the sleepy eyes and soft fur fool you. He is simply resting; presumably exhausted from his current five day rampage.

Kitty Benevolence?

For some reason demon kitty chose not to mutiliate this particular specimen. Was it due to a remaining sense of Christian kindness or did it merely taste bad? Only time will tell.

Seconds

The naive part of me wants to believe that it was the ants that consumed the prey in the previous seven hours. But I know better.

Sad face :(

This was a cute one.

Could it be a more humane Scobie?

Oh the Horror!

A particularly nasty kill as evidenced by the partially attached spine and unidentifiable organ mass barely hanging on by a thread of cartilage. It could be a liver. Perhaps a poster for mouse anti-drinking campaign?
